What are PSUs?

Public Sector undertakings (PSUs) are the Government owned corporation or a company in which Central or State Government have more than 51% share. Basically, these Government companies run like private companies and share their profits to the respective central or state Government. A career in PSU requires, a strong and in-depth domain knowledge and understanding of core engineering Principals.

How to join any PSU?

Nowadays in India GATE is one such gateway, through which more than 2000 jobs are available for a fresh engineering graduate in major PSUs in India. The list includes IOCL BHEL, NTPC, BPCL, CEL, NHPC, OIL, ONGC, GAIL, Power Grid etc.
All these Public sector companies recruit engineering graduate for Engineer Trainee (ET) or Graduate Trainee or Management Trainee (MT) post based on the GATE scores. Initially, they would shortlist candidates based on the GATE scores followed by GD and Interview.
